English Axis: A Review of Literature and Language, is a peer-reviewed, online, quarterly journal that focuses on the critical and scholarly study of Literature in English and the English Language. The journal aims to publish articles that explore different aspects of literature, scholarly pursuits, research innovations in English Language Teaching, methods of ELT, Teaching of English as a Second Language, Comparative Literature, Children’s Literature, Detective Literature, War Literature, Digital Literature, Trans Humanism, Post Humanism, Transcultural Identity, Climate Literature, Ancient Myths, Indigenism, book reviews, etc.
The journal will invite entries for special issues of short stories, poems, book reviews, graphic stories, etc., as and when the occasion arises. In short, anything under the purview of English Literature and Language is likely to be published, if found scholarly.
Aims and Scope
English Axis projects itself as a forum in which anything in English Literature and Language can be discussed and promoted to the benefit of the scholars and teachers across the globe. The journal invites scholars to contribute to areas such as Climate Literature, Popular Literature, Language and Identity, Translation Studies, Innovations in English Language Teaching, Relevance of the Classics in the Current Era, Globalization, Transcultural Identity, Indigenism, Diaspora Literature, Children’s Literature, Detective Literature, Creative Writing, Postcolonial Studies, Contemporary Trends in Literature, and Criticism. We would also like to publish reviews of books. Critics are encouraged to send book reviews to the editor.
Author Guidelines
Length
Articles should be between 4,000 and 6,0000 words, exclusive of the works cited and notes. The ‘Abstract’ must be approximately 150 words, followed by five keywords.
Policies
- Articles are subject to blind reviewing. Therefore, the names of authors and other contributors must appear only on the title page.
- The authors are required not to send the articles submitted to our journal, for submission elsewhere at the same time. If the article is submitted elsewhere, the authors are required to inform us immediately.
- AI chatbots must not be included as authors.
- Contributors who do not meet the required criteria for authorship must not be included as authors but can be included in the ‘Acknowledgements Section.’
- Plagiarism and breaches of other practices in publication resulting in issues of copyright infringement are frowned upon, resulting in rejection of those articles.
- Articles published before in any form must not be sent for submission.
- The average time taken to inform authors about the decision on their articles is two months. Authors can send mail regarding the status of their article’s submission after two months of submission.
- The editors will make changes in words, phrases, and punctuation where they are deemed necessary.
Formatting
- The names of the authors, their designations, institutions affiliated to, address, phone numbers, and email IDs must be at the top of the title page.
- Submissions should follow the IX edition of the MLA Handbook.
- Page number is to be inserted at the right bottom corner of each page.
- All articles are to be submitted as Microsoft Word Files.
- Authors who need assistance with editing their text can avail services of EA Assist.
Checklist
The following guidelines may be followed for submission of articles.
- The submission has not been previously published in any form anywhere and is not for consideration before another journal.
- The file is in Microsoft Word format.
- The font preferred is ‘Bookman Old Style’ or ‘Arial Narrow.’ The font size is to be 12. Pictures, statistics, tables, or any other aids inserted must be in the appropriate places near the corresponding text.
- The text adheres to the IX edition of the MLA Handbook.
- The contact details are up to date.
