Abstract

In today’s globalized world, technology plays a big role in human life, particularly in the field of education. New teaching techniques are emerging with increasing use of computer and advancement of technology. Digital education helps the learners to explore more related to the content that they search for. In that perspective Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is a dual focused approach, where two things are done at a single time – content is learned by the learners and the target language (L2) is acquired by them. This paper discusses how digital tools and platforms support core CLIL principles by providing learners with multimodal input, student engagement and facilitating interaction and scaffolding. CLIL is grounded in 4C’s – content, culture, cognition and communication, finding new momentum in digital classroom, that fosters learners’ multimodal engagement, collaborative learning, and personalized learning instruction. By examining CLIL through the lens of digital classroom, this paper aims to provide a theoretical overview of how technology reshapes and integrates content and language in contemporary education.
